Facts about Suffering of Population in Gaza

WHAT IS GAZA?

Gaza_Strip_map2.svgBefore you make any opinions about the conflict in Israel and Gaza. pleas check these facts and figures:

1. Gaza was invaded by Israel in 1967 ever since Israel is illegally occupying the whole of the Gaza strip.

2. Gaza is surrounded on three sides by Israel who has blocked all these three sides by Israeli army. Navy.

One side is border of Egypt where the Egyptian army along with Israeli UN observers monitors blocks the entry of any body from/to Gaza.

Gaza is literally huge prison where not even a bird can enter without Israel’s permission.

3. Gaza has no sea port or airport or even a train station.

4. Gaza residents cannot leave Gaza as they don’t even have passports. Plus there are Israeli checkpoints at every place. Also no one from any country can enter Gaza without Israel’s permission which is impossible to get , forget about ordinary man even the top politicians of powerful countries had been denied entry in Gaza by Israel. Gaza is a place which is totally cutoff from the rest of the world.

5. Each and every daily use commodities comes through these Israeli check points. Even the milk, wheat medicines all items come through these Israeli check points. Israel charge taxes on all the items witch goes through these check points.

6. Gaza is like a big jail. It is entire country under seize. Even inside Gaza Israel have several check posts at important junctions. The Israeli army harasses and humiliates Gaza citizens every day as the Gaza citizens cross these check posts.

7. The UN has urged Israel numerous times to remove this illegal seizure of Gaza but Israel never listen to UN .

More than 50 resolutions have been passed by UN against Israel but with USA always on its side so Israel just doesn’t care.

images8. The food and essentials are always in short supply in Gaza as Israel delays, discourages and harass its imports in Gaza. Shops don’t have enough rations, hospitals don’t have enough and essential medicines. Power is in short supply, petrol and gas is in shortage too. The inflation is highest in the world in Gaza as a result of it. The poverty is rising at the highest rate also. The Gaza children’s are among the worst malnutrition children now.

9. There are no specialized doctors or equipments to treat the serious injury or disease in any hospitals. Every now and then Israeli army bomb Gaza and the innocent civilians get hurt during bombing. These wounded civilians plead and beg in the check points to let them out for treatment but they kind Israeli army never let them. So the wounds which could have been treated become more severe and often the wounded becomes handicapped for the rest of their lives.

10. Once a thriving society and rich people now have become beggars / prisoners in their own country. Can you imagine the trauma, the humiliation, the harassment, the pain in the hearts of these people who have been invaded and made prisoners and slaves in their own country?

They have been struggling for their independence since almost 50 years now. With each passing day Israel is constructing new settlements for its Israeli citizens in their land. With each passing day their hope of independence, a hope to live a normal life like any other human is fading away. Every night they sleep in pain and every morning they wake up with sorrows.

In the pretext of peace talks Israel actually is delaying their independence to capture more and more of their land everyday by constructing new Israeli homes and settlements. The Palestinians know this and they are watching it helplessly. Just like a goat watch the lion eats its children but can do nothing. They are shedding tears of blood. With Israeli soldiers harassing them , cursing them, abusing them mocking them, hurting them , killing them everyday in their very own land, all Palestinians can do is watch and cry.

What suggestions do you have now? The western paid media is making broadcasting news in such a manner that one should feel as if Gaza residence are the one who are occupying Israel and Israel is fighting for the freedom of its citizen. So that people can only curse and blame Gaza residents.

Can you try to feel their misery and helplessness? We can not even imagine spending even one day in the jail called Gaza and they are living there everyday.

Unequal Distribution of Wealth in Pakistan

” I don’t know which world the TV channels are showing. The world that I see, is very beautiful and favorable to Pakistan.”
(PM Nawaz Sharif)

1901167_10152031429897879_1626929519_nThis was the statement given by NS during a laptop distribution ceremony this week. No doubt Mr. PM, the world that you see and the real world of the have-not that exists around us (and shown by media) are far apart. Your world is the world of palaces, bullet proof vehicles, thousands of security guards and their world is defined with hunger, poverty, lack of shelter and lack of security. Your world is the world of business empires spread from Dubai, to London and to every nook and corner of the globe, their world is confined to joblessness, diseases, robberies and deaths. Your world has lot of crown princes and princesses who are waiting to take your place, their world sees a bleak and dismal future for their children with no chance of getting even a respectable job on merit.

Yes Mr. NS, both the worlds are hell apart, because you are PM of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and your 180 million subjects are sons of a lesser god. Not surprising at all..

Public Protest of PTI against Election Rigging Reaches Sialkot

PTI JALSA IN SIALKOT- 7 JUNE 14 By Akhtar Malik

10360396_752629251446164_2188731450328949406_nWith every successive jalsa of PTI the zeal, enthusiasm and vigor of the people is increasing. Those who thought that people will forget about election rigging as a thing of the past, should open their eyes and see reality on ground. There is s general awareness among the masses that without fair & free elections a true democracy is not possible, and without true democracy a nation cannot progress. People are no more satisfied with the spate of so-called development works of the Noon govt like metro buses and metro trains. People want their life, property and honor to be protected. They are an eye witness to the gruesome condition of lawlessness in Punjab and how Punjab police is playing havoc with the lives of poor people. People are feeling that unless the curse of two-family political system is replaced with true democracy, their plight will see no positive change.

10418252_752629218112834_5977185936771168993_nPeople are getting astonished to know the blatant and sophisticated methods being applied by the authorities to hijack their mandate. With every constituency that is being opened / scrutinized the mind boggling methods of rigging are surfacing, thereby casting deep doubts on the legitimacy of the sitting rulers. But unfortunately the govt is turning a blind eye towards these facts, on the hope that public protest of PTI will fizzle out soon. Sadly for them the realities on ground are quite contrary to their expectations.

Lawlessness in the Punjab, A Woman Stoned to Death in Front of Court

SATANIC CYCLE OF LAWLESSNESS IN PUNJAB

By Akhtar Malik :29 May 2014

woman-stoned-to-death-for-honour-outside-lhc-1401229571-2030A 25 years old pregnant woman has been stoned to death by her own family members in Lahore High Court in the presence of police.

This brutal scene is not from tribal area, nor the criminals are TTP terrorists or religious extremists. This tragedy has happened in the heart of Pakistan, Lahore, and in the reign of Shahbaz Shareef, who is portrayed as a hard task master and a Khadim e Aala.

Punjab is a province where Noon league is in the govt over the past many decades. Though law & order is a grave problem everywhere in Pakistan but Punjab is the worst, given the situational dynamics. It is a pity that this aspect has not been given due attention by Noon. This brutal act is not the only event, it is the latest in the series of events that occur so frequently here. Acid throwing, letting the dogs loose on poor victims, kidnapping, murders in the name of honor, and so many other forms of other crimes are a common feature in Punjab. Police has lost its entity as a law enforcing agency and rather safeguards the interests of the powerful. Not a single criminal has been punished in the recent past.

The vicious, rather Satanic cycle in which the poor, helpless and innocent masses have been kept hostage usually takes the following shape:

1. A crime is committed. The victim goes to Police for FIR.
2. The victim is kicked out bu Police and the criminals are honored in the police station.
3. The news is leaked out on media and some TV channel broadcasts the news.
4. Our Khadim e Aala wakes up and takes notice.
5. CM goes to house of victim’s family, shows solidarity, announces some monetary compensation and asks police to arrest the culprits. Senior police officers at the occasion are admonished by CM who keep listening with their heads down. The artificiality of all this drama is clearly visible to a keen eye.
6. The culprits are arrested, given VIP protocol by police and a nominal FIR is registered.
7. The victim family is pressurized by the notable people who have links with govt and with the criminals alike.
8. In most of the cases a compromise between the victim family and the criminals takes place before the case goes to the court. The criminals are set free to commit fresh crimes.
9. If at all the case goes to court the lengthy and expensive legal procedures, insecurity of the witnesses, coupled with constant threats from powerful criminals, sooner or later compel the victim party to surrender the case.

This vicious cycle goes on and on and have no chances of any improvement at least in the present setup.

Will PML-N Government Meet Demands of PTI for Electoral Reforms

By Akhtar Malik: 14 May 2014

PTI CHARTER OF DEMAND- 11 MAY 14

10352404_734904693218620_6670531834815141976_nIK has given a workable charter of demand to govt. It is all democratic and has the support of almost all political parties. Good omen is that IK wants reforms while staying as part of the system. This is a golden opportunity for the Noon govt to take initiative and fulfill these demands.

So far Noon govt has not shown any inclination to take these demands seriously and is seen to while away time. The ministers are still attacking IK and his rallies. Ego and expediencies should not be allowed to create hurdles. Any apathy on the part of Noon govt will give an impression to the people that solution of problems is not possible in a democratic dispensation. This will be
dangerous.

Protest Rallies of Imran Khan and Dr Tahir ul Qadri on 11 May 2014

By Akhtar Malik : 10 May 2014

11 MAY 2014 – A DAY THAT CAN CHANGE THE POLITICS

imagesA nationwide protest movement against electoral rigging is in the offing. Imran Khan has announced that the protest will not be stopped till its logical outcome- the electoral reforms to ensure fair and free elections- is achieved. Parallel to PTI, another movement is also being launched by Dr. Tahir ul Qadri of PAT, with the aim of revamping the whole corrupt system that has played havoc with the lives and properties of the citizens. Both the leaders have pledged not to support martial law but to install a real democracy that will reflect the aspirations of poor masses and down trodden strata of society. A number of other political parties and religious will also join the protest.

IK has knocked on all the doors to get justice in his cases against election rigging but couldn’t, even after a lapse of one year. The govt of PML-N seems to be ignorant of what all can happen on 11 May and onwards. They had neither taken any action to avert this eventuality nor are they expected to take any now. Only statements like ‘ foreign agenda’, hidden hand’, ‘derailing of democracy’ etc may not help to resolve the issue. Something concrete should have been done to satisfy the aggrieved party.

PAT-Rally-against-Corrupt-electoral-system_2013-04-21_04Over the past one year the situation has been made more complex. As per constitution the election tribunals are bound to decide the cases of alleged rigging within 4 months. As and where an election tribunal gave orders for recounting, the member from Noon went to courts and obtained stay orders. Ayaz Sadiq Speaker NA is dragging his case for 8 months. If PTI went to courts, they ruled that it is the domain of election commission and not the courts. But at the same times courts have been issuing stay orders in the same cases. The point to ponder is- if a system comprising ECP, election tribunals and the Judiciary at various level is unable to dispense justice even within one years, and the sitting govt also feels ‘unable’ to do anything in this situation, then what is the use of this inept and rotten system which needs revamping immediately?

It is not understood as to why the Noon govt has taken this burden of election rigging on themselves? Noon was not the one who had conducted elections. It was the caretaker govt and judiciary who performed this task. Had Noon govt conducted an impartial inquiry in to rigging, there could have been two scenarios:

(1) If Noon thought that allegations leveled by PTI were baseless and Noon got a genuine mandate of the people then Noon should have voluntarily offered a broad based inquiry and ensuing results would have silenced PTI once and for all.
(2) If during inquiry some irregularities came up, the govt could have taken appropriate action against persons responsible and would have made necessary changes in the electoral processes. Obviously Noon was not to be held responsible for malpractices in polls.
(3) A re-polling could have been ordered in disputed constituencies. As Noon had secured an overwhelming number of seats, even if they lost 50% to PTI that wouldn’t have made any difference. Noon would still be in leading position to form govt.
(4) Based on the facts obtained from inquiry and after punishing the culprits responsible for rigging, a comprehensive plan could have been made so that future elections were in fair manner.
(5) In the worst scenario if the Supreme Court had rendered the whole elections null & void and ordered re-elections, it would have been a feasible option. Re-elections are the solution for many problems. It would have averted the chances of anarchy and martial law.

But unfortunately the govt didn’t adopt this strategy and let the situation reach the present point. Now if Noon thinks that protest launched by PTI, PAT etc will pose no problem for them, then in my view the govt is playing a risky gamble. There can be two outcomes of this protest:

(1) If the protest is not supported by people ie the people do not come on street in reasonably large numbers and the protest becomes unsustainable then the movement will fizzle out. In that case Noon govt can relax and pass the remaining time in peace. This situation can also arise if the govt is successful in luring in the protesting parties to a compromise. The movement will then come to an end, waiting for the govt promises to be fulfilled, which will never be.

(2) If people come out in large numbers and the movement gains momentum with every passing day, the chances are that it may swell beyond proportions. In that case the govt will make hasty and erratic decisions and will eventually scum to public pressure.
In the case of movement becoming successful the govt will come under tremendous pressure. Army is likely to remain neutral and will not become party with Noon against will of the people. In that case the movement may result into an interim govt taking over the power.

Every problem has its solution, but with the passage of time as the problem becomes complex and serious the solutions tend to become more difficult and costly. We have examples as to how the strong rulers were disposed off in 1968, 1977, 1999 and 2008 as a result of public uprisings.

How PML-N govt will tackle this issue will be a test of its political acumen.

It is Surprising that PML-N Government Considers GEO Group and ISI at Par

Role of PML-N Government to Sponsor GEO TV Channel

Is this govt of the Noon hanging on our heads, really the govt of people of Pakistan? I am sure it is not. A leader, a party or a govt who cannot assess the importance of an institution of national defense (ISI) vis a vis a private media group and equates them to be at par, have no right to sit on treasury benches and decide the fate of 1900 million Pakistanis. It is dangerous and a risk for national security.

A PML-N leader Uzma Bukhari explains the government stance on Geo/ ISI controversy. Please see this video link..
